This study explores how YAHUAH uses humbling, separation, and the wilderness to refine, teach, and draw His people closer. Separation is not failure. It is preparation. Trials are not punishment. They are instruction.

Finding YAHUAH Through Humbling, Trials, and Separation

A Shabbat Scripture Study

1YAHUAH Purposely Uses Trials and Affliction to Humble and Reveal Himself

"And thou shalt remember all the way which YAHUAH thy ALUAH led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart…

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger… that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YAHUAH."

Deuteronomy 8:2–3

Key point: Humbling comes first. Knowledge comes after.

"That through them I may prove YAHSHAR'AL, whether they will keep the way of YAHUAH to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not."

Judges 2:21–22

Key point: Oppression and resistance are allowed to test obedience and awaken discernment.

"For thou, O ALUAH, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins…
but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place."

Psalm 66:10–12

Key point: Trial is the refining process. Freedom follows refinement.

2YAHUAH Breaks Before He Heals. This Is Consistent Through Scripture

"Come, and let us return unto YAHUAH: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up."

Hosea 6:1

Order matters:

Torn → Healed

Smitten → Bound up

Not reversed.

"Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction."

Isaiah 48:10

Key point: Affliction is a selection process.

"For YAHUAH will not cast off for ever:
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men."

Lamentations 3:31–33

Key point: Humbling is purposeful, not malicious. This is right ruling.

3Separation Is Part of the Calling, Not a Sign of Error

"I have borne reproach for thy sake…
I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children."

Psalm 69:7–9

"I sat not in the assembly of the mockers… because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation."

Jeremiah 15:17

"Trust ye not in a friend… a man's enemies are the men of his own house."

Micah 7:5–6

Key point: Separation is not failure. Separation is preparation.

4YAHUAH Uses Isolation, Loss, and the Wilderness to Awaken

"Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns…
Then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband…
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak to her heart."

Hosea 2:6–7, 14

Key point: YAHUAH isolates so He can be heard.

"My son, if thou come to serve YAHUAH, prepare thy soul for temptation…
For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity."

Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 2:1–5

5PALAL Must Align With YAHUAH's Right Ruling, Not Human Emotion

"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

James 4:3

Praying for comfort without correction is asking amiss.

"Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word…
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes."

Psalm 119:67, 71

Key point: Affliction produces learning. Learning produces obedience.

6YAHUAH Reveals Himself After Humbling

"I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."

Job 42:5–6

Seeing YAHUAH comes after being brought low.

"Those that walk in pride he is able to abase."

Daniel 4:34–37

"For ALUAH proved them, and found them worthy for himself.
As gold in the furnace hath he tried them."

Wisdom of Solomon 3:5–6

7Why Growing in Knowledge While Waiting Is Critical

"The fear of YAHUAH is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the set apart is understanding."

Proverbs 9:10

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy ALUAH, I will also forget thy children."

Hosea 4:6

Key point: Lack of knowledge leads to rejection. Rejection leads to consequence. Consequence leads to humbling.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto ALUAH… rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy 2:15

If others awaken and you are not grounded, you cannot help them.

8Encouragement for Those Already Broken and Humbled

"YAHUAH is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."

Psalm 34:18

"I dwell… with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the heart of the contrite ones."

Isaiah 57:15

This is not punishment.
This is proximity.

"ALUAH resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

James 4:6

If you are humbled, you are not behind. You are ahead of the curve.

9Rejoicing When YAHUAH Answers PALAL Through Humbling

"Blessed be ALUAH, which hath not turned away my prayer…"

Psalm 66:18–20

When humbling occurs:

  • Do not grieve
  • Rejoice
  • Because YAHUAH heard your PALAL

This is confirmation, not cruelty.

"That the works of ALUAH should be made manifest in him."

John 9:3

The fall is not the end.
The fall is the unveiling.

10Stewardship After the Fall

"Restore such an one in the spirit of meekness…"

Galatians 6:1

"He shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom."

Isaiah 40:11

You were awakened first so you could help soften the path for others.
