3 Yochanan (3 John)

Commendation and Warning

Introduction

Shalum, Myshphaka

The Third Letter of Yochanan is the shortest book in the Renewed Covenant, written by "the elder" to a beloved brother named Gaius. This personal letter commends Gaius for his faithfulness and hospitality to traveling teachers of the truth.

In contrast, Yochanan warns against Diotrephes, who loves preeminence and refuses to receive the brethren. The letter encourages believers to follow what is good, for he that does good is of ALUAH.

Now, Myshphaka, let us read the restored text of 3 Yochanan (3 John).

Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the assembly.

11

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of ALUAH: but he that doeth evil hath not seen ALUAH.
