And it came to pass when I heard these words that I sat down and wept and mourned certain days and fasted and prayed before the ALUAH of SHAMAYIM

Most churches teach on prayer and fasting
But the Word goes deeper everlasting
It calls for weeping hearts that mourn
For souls reborn when pride is torn
YAHUAH never asked for empty hunger
He wants the heart not just the number
He seeks the tears that cleanse inside
The humble cry that lays down pride
So in this song you’ll hear it clear
Fasting prayer and every tear
The mourning weeping all restored
Returning hearts to YAHUAH adored

Hands open faces down
QODESH hush across the floor
We need YAHUAH even more

Fear rose up but faith held fast
The king set his heart to proclaim a fast
Judah drew near to seek ALUAH
From every city to call on YAHUAH
We lift our eyes and set our face
We do not trust in sword or mace
Not by power not by might
But by the RUAH who brings the light

Second Chronicles twenty three to four
Judah gathered to seek YAHUAH and proclaimed a fast

You hear Your people just the same

At evening gift I rose from grief
With garment torn and heart laid bare
I fell on knees and spread out hands
And poured my prayer into the air

They fasted with sackcloth one and all
The king stepped down from his throne
He cried to ALUAH with a broken tone
Let every mouth turn from wrong
Let every hand put down the harm
Maybe YAHUAH will turn the blow
Show QODESH mercy let compassion flow

They believed they fasted they cried mightily to ALUAH and turned from evil ways
From cry to change from fast to grace
You spared the city by Your face

Blow the trumpet set the day
Call a fast do not delay
Gather elders gather youth
Bride and groom come seek the truth
Let priests weep between the place
Porch and altar seek His face
Spare Your people O YAHUAH
Turn reproach and heal the scar O ALUAH

While we served and fasted the RUAH said set them apart and we laid on hands with prayer
You speak in fast You send in fire
We go with love and QODESH desire

Where nights get long and pockets sting
Where hunger pulls and tempers flare
I learned to hide behind a stare
But fasting cut the noise inside
And prayer unmasked the fear and pride
Now mourning breaks the hard veneer

I trade the flex for truth and grace
And follow light to sacred place
